Modern gaming hardware and capture software are often "good enough" for recording gaming sessions or streaming on Twitch. But for professional streamers, dedicated internal PCIe cards can offer even better results.
AVerMedia has introduced two new PCIe cards for game capture and streaming. The Live Gamer 4K 2.1 is the PCIe version of the Live Gamer Ultra 2.1 USB device, offering no-compromise recording. There's also the entry-level Live Streamer Ultra HD card.
The Live Gamer 4K 2.1 is described by AVerMedia as the world's top consumer-grade HDMI 2.1 PCIe capture card. It has HDMI 2.1 connectivity, Ultra HD recording, and supports high frame rates. You can capture a 4K60 video or broadcast in 4K at 144Hz with VRR passthrough and HDR support.
The Live Streamer Ultra HD card is for those exploring live-streaming. It can broadcast and capture at 4K resolutions, though at lower frame rates (60/30 fps) than the high-end card. However, capturing at lower resolutions (1080p) can boost the frame rate up to 120.
The CEO mentioned, "Whether you're playing the latest 4K games, need HDMI 2.1 compatibility, or prefer PCIe connectivity, we've expanded our capture card line to meet the needs of the streaming community."
AVerMedia also provides free dedicated software called RECentral for the new capture cards. This program allows simultaneous streaming and broadcasting to multiple platforms like Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook. RECentral also works seamlessly with other third-party capturing and live-streaming platforms.
AVerMedia's capture devices are available on Amazon. The Live Gamer 4K 2.1 card is priced at $270, and the Live Streamer Ultra HD card costs $180.
AVerMedia capture cards offer low-latency recording and streaming capabilities for PCs, and they can also work with console/PC setups. However, to get the best results, players need a spare PCIe slot. Alternatively, software-based solutions like OBS Studio or GeForce ShadowPlay can provide excellent results for streaming and recording tasks with sufficiently powerful hardware.
